Next week Nancy and I fly to Berlin, the start of a trip through some of the great cities of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire: Prague, Budapest, VIenna, and a few places in between. You can see the sights on this blog, but I can promise lots of images of churches and castles. The above photograph comes from an earlier trip: the fortress of the village of Marvão, Portugal, on the eastern border, keeping watch on the Spanish who might try to sneak across.
